Information

The Wales and West Associates scheme provides non syllabus classes for boys and girls from 8 years of age who are training in classical ballet. The aim is to provide an opportunity for youngsters to meet and experience a diverse selection of dance genres in order to enhance their regular training and to broaden their general knowledge and understanding. A ballet class is followed by a class in a different dance genre. Classes are taught by an experienced professional faculty.

The Junior, Middle and Senior classes will be held 3 times a term on a Sunday. Junior and Middle classes will be held in the morning and Middle and Seniors classes will be held in the afternoon. The venue will be Ballet Cymru at Unit 1a, Wern Industrial Estate, Rogerstone, Newport. NO10 9FQ.

Applicants for Junior associates must be 8 years old and under 10 years old before September 1st of the academic year. Middle associates should be 11 to 14 years old before September 1st of the academic year. Senior associates should be 18 years or under before September 1st of the academic year. There may be some exceptions which will be at the discretion of the panel. All applicants must have achieved a good standard in examinations in whichever method they have taken. The classes will be taken by eminent teachers of the Cecchetti method and others, and will consist of a Classical Ballet class and either a class in Character, Exercises, Mime, National,Choreography, Irish, Spanish, Ballroom OR Classical Greek.
